Formerly an industrial site, the National Park Service together with the City of Portage have turned this former corner of industrialism into a peaceful oasis of natural beauty. This is a non-swimming beach so there are "NO Lifeguards on Duty". . .
. . . . This is a FUN, refreshing lakefront for sightseeing, bird watching, or fishing on the pier. The Portage Lakefront & Riverwalk Trail includes a modern enclosed pavilion with a walk-up concession stand, outdoor seating, and indoor restrooms, and a pier perfect for launching small watercraft.
