Located at 8801 Indianapolis Boulevard on Rt 41, the independently owned BLUE TOP Drive-In restaurant served locals and tourists traveling through Highland, Indiana for over 75 years.
Founded in 1936 by William Louis Johnsen and his wife Julia.

Named in 1938 after its once iconic blue roof.

Beginning in the 1950's, The BLUE TOP Drive-In became a popular place for teenagers with "Muscle Cars" and "Hot Rods" to show off their cars... and their dates!

"Cruising" to the BLUE TOP Drive-In made a comeback in the late 70's & 80's

Today in 2013

Coupled with competition from franchises like McDonalds and Taco Bell, the lowering economy in the last decade has made it almost impossible for small, independently owned fast-food restaurants like the once profitable BLUE TOP Drive-In to remain in business.
